On February 26th Google announced that their search results will now use mobile-friendly criteria as a signal to determine a site’s Google Rank. Ken Wisnefski, CEO of leading digital marketer
WebiMax, had the following to say regarding this most recent update:
“This update is truly significant as mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets have surged ahead of the old PC as the primary way people connect to the internet. Over the past 36 months, the growth of mobile search has also risen at unprecedented rates, with analysts estimating that 42% of all organic searches are conducted over mobile devices. What Google’s announcement essentially means is that if your site was only designed for desktop computers and presents mobile users with things like poorly formatted text and links, slow load times and horizontal scrolling, then your site will not come up in Google searches done on mobile devices.”
